Group Meditation for Healing the Earth

Guru Ram Das Ashram (map)

Selected By: Paula

Greetings all,

Yoga/meditation is one of my hobbies and I would like to invite the lovely introverts in this group to join me in attending a group meditation that I have been regularly participating in (someone else is the leader of the actual meditation). The intention of this meditation is to think of who or what in your life needs healing and you direct some thought to the situation. This meditation is a Kundalini Yoga meditation and it utilizes the mantra 'Adi Shakti'. Some students wear all white, to symbolize the purity of your soul. You don't have to wear all white, just wear some clothes you are comfortable in, as we are sitting for an hour to do this.

It is not necessary to familiarize yourself with the mantra as it is fairly easy to pick up and the organizer has some copies of the actual mantra.

Here's how it works:
We sit in a circle, tune in with a mantra and we can verbalize out loud who/what we would like to direct this energy to, or we can just affirm mentally, silently.

A cd is usually played and the version the organizer uses can be found at:
http://www.spiritvoya...

The organizer will say a line and we repeat it, like on the cd. We do this for an hour. You can take a break if necessary. We end with a closing song, again it's easy to pick up and if you don't get all the words, it's okay.

After this is over, we can have some tea, which they provide.

They accept donations, and suggest a minimum of $2.

Street parking is available.

(this info can be found at: http://www.spiritvoya...)

Mantra: Adi Shakti

Adi Shakti, Adi Shakti, Adi Shakti, Namo Namo
Sarab Shakti, Sarab Shakti, Sarab Shakti, Namo Namo
Pritham Bhagvati, Pritham Bhagvati, Pritham Bhagvati, Namo Namo
Kundalini Mata Shakti, Mata Shakti, Namo Namo

Translation:

I bow to (or call on) the primal power.
I bow to (or call on) the all encompassing power and energy.
I bow to (or call on) that through which God creates.
I bow to (or call on) the creative power of the Kundalini, the Divine Mother Power.

More Information:

The Adi Shakti Mantra tunes one into the frequency of the Divine Mother, and to the primal protective, generating energy. It is said that chanting it eliminates fears and fulfills desires.
